Title: Breaking the Silence
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Two months after Murray moves aboard the Riptide, Nick and Cody are trying to find a way to get back into a familiar routine. But Murray just wants to help.

There were no sounds coming from their stateroom save the occasional creak of a strained bolt, or the rustle of skin across sheets. And the whispering.

"S'that too much?" Nick whispered.

Cody blinked rapidly and arched, trying to draw Nick deeper. He drew a shuddering breath. "I'm good, Nick, keep going," he whispered back. "It's just...been awhile." Cody looked down to where they were joined, the details of their bodies merging in the darkness. He exhaled sharply.

Nick pulled out and pushed back off him. Cody looked up and frowned. "What're you doing?" he whispered.

Nick lay back down atop Cody and stopped the whine with a kiss. "We gotta do something about this," he said finally, in a murmur. "He's not movin' out, you know."

"Yeah, I know," Cody murmured back. "An' I don't want him to. It's just..." Cody groaned as Nick shifted to one side and moved slick fingers back to his entrance. Working him gently. "It's just..." He whimpered as Nick slid his fingers in and out. Nick curled his fingers, and Cody bucked, trembling. He cried out, then sought Nick's eyes in the darkness. "Sorry!" he whispered. He gasped and bit his lip. His hips were bucking uncontrollably now, and Nick's eyes gleamed.

"I'm not," Nick growled. He added a third finger and sped up his thrusts. "Need to see you come, baby. Need to hear you."

Panting, Cody tried to spread his thighs wider in the cramped bunk. When the wall stopped him, he pulled one leg back and laid it on Nick's shoulder. He rocked his hips hard against Nick's hand. Nick's thrusts were hard and fast now. With each rough stroke, Nick's fingers found what Cody needed. What they both needed.

"Need the whole damn harbor to hear you, Cody," Nick hissed. "Come on, man. Come for me. Now!"

Cody gripped the edge of the bunk tightly, Nick's words igniting the fire that was smoldering inside. It blazed in seconds and ripped through him, flames licking up and down his spine. Cody threw his head back and screamed.

---

"He fell." Murray said evenly. "In the middle of the night. Just fell right out of his bunk."

Cody put his hand over his face and left it there. "I had a nightmare, Boz. I'm sorry."

The three of them were standing at the head of the stateroom stairs. Cody'd put his tattered plaid robe on and Nick had managed to find a pair of sweatpants before Murray began pounding concernedly on their door.

"Oh no, I believe you Cody, I'm just wondering if there's a way we could build some sort of, well, a containment system, at the edge of your bunk. So the next time it happens, you don't fall. I mean, that really sounded like something terrible had happened!"

Cody dropped his hand and looked to Nick for help.

Nick laid a hand on Cody's arm. "Look, Murray. I promise you, that I am gonna make sure it never happens again, okay? I'm gonna keep an eye on this guy and make sure there's no way he comes out of his bunk again. You got that?"

Cody looked at the floor and fought back a grin. He still owed Nick one, and the sweatpants were doing little to conceal that fact.

But Murray didn't seem to notice.

"Well, Nick, that's very admirable but how d'you know next time you'll be in time? Now, in addition to the physical containment system, what I could do is rig up a sensor that monitors Cody's heartbeat and if it senses it getting above a certain range, it'll send a message to the Roboz and--"

"No!" Nick and Cody said in unison.

Murray's face fell.

"Look, Boz," Cody put a hand around his friend's shoulders and walked him further into the salon. He couldn't believe the little guy hadn't noticed Nick's sweats. "I really appreciate your concern, I really do, but...I guess I don't wanna make my nightmares your problem, okay pal?"

"Oh it's no problem, Cody, really. I have all the components in my room. I can have the system up and running before you can say 'cardiac palpitations'!" Murray grinned happily.

"No no, look." Cody put a hand on Murray's chest. "I'm real sorry I woke you up, okay? I don't have nightmares that often, so there's really no need for you to go to all that trouble."

"Well, but you fell out of your bunk, Cody. Did you hit your head or anything when you--"

"Boz, please. Look. In the two months you been living here, this is only the second time you've gotten woken up, right?"

"That's right, but that other time it was burglars, right? Not a nightmare. And besides, you guys said your yell scared them off, so if you think about it, that was a good yell."

"Well this was uh," Cody cleared his throat. "This was a good yell, too. It woke me up at least. Stopped me from having the nightmare."

Murray put his head on one side, considering. "That's true, I guess, but..." He frowned. "Didn't the fall wake you, too?"

"What fa--oh, that. Yeah, Boz, that woke me too."

"Are you sure you're all right, Cody? I know the signs of a concussion." He pulled a pen flashlight from his pajama pocket and waved the light in Cody's eyes.

Cody took a quick step back, squinting. He held up his hands to ward off the light. "Murray! Murray!" He sighed. "I'm fine. I swear."

Nick came up behind them and dropped a hand on Cody's shoulder. He squeezed and
Cody's cock gave a weak twitch under the worn flannel fabric. "He's fine, Boz. An' I promise I'll stay awake for awhile and monitor him." Nick smirked at Cody. "Closely."

"Well, if you're sure." Murray tucked the flashlight back in his pocket. "I guess there's no hurry on either the containment system or the heart monitor. Did you know that after you have a nightmare, if you get up and walk around, the rise in your orthostatic blood pressure actually reverses the chemical change in your brain that caused the nightmare in the first place?" He smothered a yawn. "So I guess you should be all set for the rest of the night, Cody."

Nick's smirk became a grin as he met Cody's eyes. "I wouldn't count on that, pal. But don't worry, I'm all the monitor you're gonna need tonight."

Cody felt a flush creep over his chest and neck, and clutched the open vee of the robe closed tightly. Nick's grin widened.

Murray yawned again and covered his mouth. "Well, if you guys are sure."

"We're sure." They said in unison, then turned and headed down the stairs.

"Night, Murray," Nick called. "Sorry we woke you, man."

Cody waved goodnight and waited until the door to Murray's room clicked shut before dowsing the salon lights and following Nick back into their stateroom. He shut the door firmly behind them and stood at the foot of his bunk, arms crossed over his chest. "I can't believe we woke him."

Nick slipped out of his sweats and stepped in close. His hard cock nudged Cody's thigh through the robe. "You woke him, with all that racket you were making." Nick tugged one end of the robe's belt. "You're lucky it was only Murray came running to investigate."

"Me?" Cody's robe fell open and Nick pushed it off his shoulders. "I had a little help there, pal." The robe fell to the floor. "You were the one...who was... who...oh..."

"Yeah?" Nick had moved his hands down to Cody's ass and was cupping his cheeks, drawing him closer. Nick's cock slid across Cody's belly in a smear of pre-come. Nick pulled Cody into a kiss, soft and lingering, and Cody's cock rallied, filling insistently in the warmth between their bodies.

The two of them stumbled eagerly back onto the bunk and Cody climbed on top of Nick, straddling his hips. Thighs and cocks bumped and nudged, skin grazing skin. "Cody," Nick growled. He fumbled in the nightstand and Cody watched him slick his cock with lube then toss the bottle to the floor.

Nick's cock gleamed wetly in the darkness and Cody gripped the headboard eagerly. He shuffled forward and a groan escaped him as his balls slid over Nick's spongy tip.

He met Nick's eyes, but this time offered no apology.

Nick grinned and settled himself happily under Cody. He slipped a hand between them to grip the base of his cock, lining it up with Cody's entrance, steadying it.

Cody took a deep breath and pushed back. The tip of Nick's cock slipped past his ring and he moaned softly, working himself down the thick shaft. His ass clenched at the intruder.

Nick bit his bottom lip and writhed. He reached a hand up and placed his hand on Cody's thigh. "Take it easy, man," he whispered. "Go slow."

But Cody had no intention of going slow. He bore down and worked Nick inside him, until he felt Nick's pubic bush tickle his balls. The brief pain faded, replaced by a familiar feeling of fulfillment.

"Cody?" Nick whispered. "Baby?"

Cody rocked his hips and Nick arched, gasping. His fingers dug into Cody's thigh as Cody moved, working Nick's cock with a fast, needy pace. "Come on, Nick," he panted. "It's your turn." He redoubled his efforts, fucking himself on Nick's hard cock. "C'mon."

Nick squeezed Cody's thighs harder and closed his eyes. Cody moved his hands down, until one was either side of Nick's head.

"Fuck!" Nick whispered. He swallowed hard and looked up into Cody's eyes, hips rocking gently. "Cody...fuck!" He bit his lip again, wincing with what Cody recognized as the effort of staying quiet.

Cody grinned and bore down.

---

"Nick?"

"Yeah, babe." Nick nuzzled Cody's jaw in the darkness.

"Murray's never gonna believe we both fell out of our bunks, is he?"
